$54,000 + RAISED BY CHARTER SCHOOLS TO BENEFIT HAITI RELIEF EFFORT
Just days after a devastating earthquake shattered Haiti, students at Odyssey Charter School, Palm Bay Community Charter and Palm Bay Municipal Charter High School began fundraising efforts to aid those affected by the disaster.
Together with a group of charter schools in South Florida and one in Texas, they secured a $20,000 donation match from Academica – a charter school service provider. By Monday, January 25th the charter school students, faculty and administrators had raised $54,942.
“Our students are incredibly committed to helping those in need,” said David Calvo, Principal, Palm Bay Community Charter School and Municipal Charter High. “They’re sensitive to the needs of our community, and the world.” Palm Bay Community Charter School and Municipal Charter High is located at 1350 Wyoming Drive, SE.
Dr. Revis, Principal of Odyssey Charter School located at 1755 Eldron Blvd, in Palm Bay, said, "Our school was proud to cooperate with Palm Bay Community Charter to serve our brothers and sisters in Haiti."
